Established in 1877, St. Matthew Cemetery has been serving South St. Louis and the surrounding community for over 130 years, and is the home of nearly 40,000 Burials.
A non-denominational cemetery, established in the German Evangelical tradition by members of the congregation of St. Matthew U C C, is open to the general public and people of all beliefs. Chartered as a Perpetual Care Cemetery; offering a serene, respectful, and dignified setting in the heart of the City of St. Louis.

The cemetery grounds are
open all year round from
dawn till dusk for visitation and
respectful remembrance.
The office* is open on weekdays from 9 A.M. to 4:30 P.M.
for sales of and information on plots,
and we have reasonably priced
artificial floral bouquets and wreaths.

Our columbarium, constructed in 2018 for cremated remains,
